Author Interview: The Barefoot Sub

Next up in my series of interviews with authors from He Will Obey is The Barefoot Sub. The Barefoot Sub is the author of the short story Marie Likes to Win.

What got you into writing erotica?

My Dominant. He has always welcomed my rambling emails, but 3 years ago he tasked me with starting the blog. While most of this is autobiographical I have had to accept that it is also erotica rather than “just my life”.

What have you learned by reading and writing erotica? Any sex tips?

Through reading erotica I have learnt a lot about pacing, structure and that it is possible to have too many sex scenes in one erotic novel!

How realistic are your stories, and are the experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

What I write is mainly autobiographical, so events from my own life. For now the fiction is my own personal fantasies, things that I wish to share with Sir. He has always encouraged me to be realistic in my daydreams, so I would hope that everything I write feels realistic to the reader.

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

I have been really enjoying Posy Churchgate and her erotica is relatively new to me. She is regularly part of collaboration stories, and has her own unique style. She also hosts a book group as well as interviewing up-and-coming bloggers that are guest hosting the 4Thoughts meme. I love her writing style, and find her supportive and inspiring in equal measure.

What do you like to do besides write?

I am a single mum of two awesome boys, and submissive to Sir. I love to run, ultra distance is where my passions lie. I also enjoy getting creative (not just writing) and am turning my home into a jungle! These plant babies are addictive.

What are you working on now?

My main focus is my blog, aleapoffaith.uk and the sister site I’ve set up for a positivity meme, mindful-moments.aleapoffaith.uk. On top of that I have my first full length novel to write. There are lots of other little projects bubbling away behind the scenes too, but these are the most important for me currently.
